Routines commonly form in both your personal and professional life. Breaking free from routine, although challenging, is extremely important and has the power to transform and liberate you from common experiences. It is easy to fall into patterns and/or habits when doing the same thing everyday and these patterns usually feel comfortable and provide stability. Getting into this repetitive cycle traps the person and does not allow them to express themselves as much. When one is able to break free from routine, new possibilities are explored and challenges come about which are overcome in many unique courses of action. It opens one’s eyes to innovate and inspire since routine’s typically create a tunnel vision where people are not open to new experiences and ideas. One is also able to come across different cultures, perspectives, which expands their horizons and ways of thinking. When breaking free, an individual may discover a new passion, hobby, talent, etc. Additionally, one can start an adventure and pursue a new career path that they have newly found. Breaking free re-energizes someone, making them more enthusiastic and raises their spirits which benefits them personally and professionally. Another important aspect of breaking free is that it refreshes mental health and emotional well-being. People typically feel drained when “stuck” in their routine and ending this cycle adds liveliness and encourages people to proactively look for fulfilling activities. Breaking free from routine allows an individual to grow on their own terms, encourage self-discovery, feel fulfilled, embrace new circumstances, reconnect with their true selves, show their inner drive, express their creativity, think in different ways, and just go through life in a more positive way with a fresh view.
